We Built 13 Free Tools for Small Business Owners. Here's What's Inside.

Every time I needed to compress an image before posting it somewhere, I went to the same website. It worked fine. It also had six ads on the page, a popup asking me to sign up for something, and a banner telling me to upgrade to pro.

I use that tool probably three times a week. I got tired of it.

So we built our own. No ads, no account, no popups, no upgrade prompts. Just the tool. And then we kept going.

What we built

Indian Lakes Marketing now has 13 free browser-based tools at indianlakesmarketing.com/resources/tools. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server. No signup required.

Here is what is inside.

Image Tools

The Image Compressor reduces file sizes without losing quality. It supports JPG, PNG, and WebP, and lets you choose your output format. The Image Resizer lets you set exact pixel dimensions and convert formats in one step. The Hex Code Finder lets you upload any image and hover over it to get the exact hex color code for any pixel, useful for anyone trying to match colors from a photo or design file.

Marketing Tools

The Meta Description Checker shows you exactly how your meta description will look in a Google search result before you publish, with a live character counter that turns red when you go over 160. The UTM Link Builder adds UTM tracking parameters to any URL so you know exactly where your traffic is coming from. The QR Code Generator creates a QR code for any URL in seconds, with PNG and SVG download options. The Brand Colors Generator takes your primary brand color and builds out a complete palette: tints, shades, and complementary colors with hex codes ready to copy.

Business Tools

The Word and Character Counter tracks words, characters, sentences, paragraphs, and reading time as you type, with threshold notices for meta descriptions, social media character limits, and more. The Password Generator creates strong passwords using cryptographically secure randomization, with controls for length and character types. The Aspect Ratio Calculator helps you find the right dimensions for social media, print, and web, with presets for every major platform. The Web Notepad is exactly what it sounds like: a clean place to write that saves automatically in your browser. The AI Image Metadata Scrubber removes embedded metadata and AI generation markers from image files before you post them to social media. And the One-Page Business Summary Generator lets you fill in your business details and download a clean, professional summary PDF, useful for networking, pitches, and introductions.

Why free

These are tools we use ourselves. Building them took time but not much, and hosting them costs us nothing since they run entirely in the browser. Making them free and ad-free is a small way to give something useful back to the small business community we serve.

If one of these tools saves you ten minutes a week, that is reason enough.
